‘Wannabe gangsters’ spray carpet foam on car parked on busy Sheffield road

A car left parked on a busy Sheffield road has been vandalised overnight, causing extensive damage to the paintwork.

Suleman Mohammed, the owner of the vehicle, said his car was sprayed with carpet foam – which has solidified – when it was parked on Abbeydale Road, next to Pittstop Tyres, overnight.

The damage is believed to have been caused between 11pm on Sunday (28 June) and 10am Monday (29 June), a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

Mr Mohammed described the act as “disgusting” and said attempts to remove the foam has caused damage to the car’s paintwork.

He wrote on Facebook: “I've come to the conclusion that it was a wannabe gangster.”

A police spokesperson added: “Police are looking in to the incident and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area.

“Please call 101 with investigation number 14/97268/20.”
