Vehicles torched across South Yorkshire in series of arson attacks

Firefighters spent last night dealing with a spate of arson attacks across South Yorkshire.

A Honda Civic was set alight on Shady Side, Hexthorpe, Doncaster, at 7.30pm and 20 minutes later a van was torched on Catley Road, Darnall, Sheffield.

Firefighters in Sheffield then dealt with a Fiat car fired on Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley.

In the early hours of this morning, two cars – a Honda and a Peugeot 206 – were torched on Campsall Balk, Norton, Doncaster.

A Hyundai car was set alight on Salisbury Road, Maltby, Rotherham and a Landrover Discovery was deliberately set alight on Elm Street, Hoyland Common, Barnsley.

Crews also dealt with a bin fire on Braithwell Road, Maltby, Rotherham and a pile of rubbish found burning on Lang Avenue, Lundwood, Barnsley.
