Thugs stole £700 from man in terrifying late-night ambush on Sheffield street

A man was attacked and robbed of £700 in a street ambush in Sheffield.

He was walking along Walling Road, towards Tyler Street, Wincobank, when he was confronted by two men at around 11.30pm on Friday, June 4.

They attacked the victim, who is in his 50s, and stole £700 he was carrying.

One of the culprits was Asian, aged between 18 and 20, slim and had short, dark hair.

He was wearing a cream tracksuit.

The other was Arabic, aged between 28 and 30, slim and had short, dark hair.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police want to hear from anyone with information that might help our officers in their investigation. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Do you know who might be responsible?”

Anyone with information should call the force on 101 and quote incident number 1,193 of June 4.
