Officers busted the drug den in a former industrial unit on Stoke Street, Attercliffe, in an early morning raid yesterday.

At the time they said they had discovered a ‘significant set-up’ but today South Yorkshire Police revealed the full scale of the cannabis farm.

A total of 1,276 cannabis plants were discovered with a value of around £900,000 plus another £900,000 worth of harvested cannabis was found.

Three men arrested after the raid have since been charged with production of cannabis.

Joni Stani, aged 36; Fatjon Plaku, 25 and Ismail Igeliku, 26, will appear before Sheffield magistrates.

In July, a £1.2 million cannabis farm was busted by police officers in Sheffield.

It was found in a former social club just off Main Road, Darnall.
