Suspect arrested for attempted murder as man found ‘seriously injured’ in Sheffield house

A house in Sheffield is under police guard today after a man was seriously injured in a disturbance there.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance after being found with serious injuries at a property in Kew Crescent, Charnock, yesterday morning.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released under investigation after questioning.

Police spent yesterday at the property and remain there today.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police in Sheffield received a call from hospital staff at 7.43am yesterday reporting that a man had been admitted with serious injuries.

“It is reported that the 19-year-old man had been brought to hospital by ambulance overnight following a disturbance at a property on Kew Crescent.

“A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been released under investigation.

“The full circumstances of what happened are being investigated, nobody else is being sought in connection with this incident. A scene remains in place at Kew Crescent.”
