Stab victim remains in hospital after knife attack in Sheffield street

A man stabbed in a Sheffield street remains in hospital in a stable condition today.

The 21-year-old was knifed in Lyons Street, Pitsmoor, at around 5pm on Saturday, July 4.

When officers arrived at the crime scene they found the injured man with a stab wound plus evidence that a gun had been fired in the same street.

The victim was taken to hospital while a police probe into the incident was launched.

Police cordoned off the street while an examination of the area was conducted.

No arrests have yet been made but detectives are treating the incident as a ‘targeted attack’.

They said they are ‘keeping an open mind as enquiries continue’ as to whether it it linked to any other incident.
