Trio due in court accused of attempted murder after shootings in Sheffield

Two men and a woman are due in court today accused of attempted murder after shootings on a Sheffield estate.

The trio were charged last week after shootings on Errington Avenue and nearby Aylward Road, Arbourthorne, on Tuesday, June 30.

The shootings happened less than 10 minutes apart.

On both occasions, a gun was fired at properties but nobody was hurt.

Joshua Motteshead, aged 20, of St Aidan’s Avenue, Norfolk Park; Demi Dunford, 24, of Derby Street, Heeley and Nicky Haycock, 22, of Ironside Close, Gleadless Valley, have all been charged with attempted murder and remanded into custody.

They are due at Sheffield Crown Court, via videolink, for a preliminary hearing this afternoon.

Two days after the shootings gunshots were fired in Kenninghall Road, Arbourthorne and Myrtle Road in neighbouring Heeley.

South Yorkshire Police said the four firearm incidents are believed to be linked.
