South Yorkshire cops to star in popular TV show '999: What’s Your Emergency?'

South Yorkshire Police are set to appear on the small screen after being chosen to appear on an upcoming Channel 4 series.

999: What’s your Emergency? takes an inside look at the day-to-day lives of police officers and call centre staff as they respond to calls from the South Yorkshire public.

Channel 4 film crews joined the force’s teams early in 2020 and episodes will provide an insight into issues such as drugs, domestic violence, car accidents and fires.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We’ve had a sneak peek and can say with certainty that it’s essential viewing for anyone who lives in South Yorkshire.

“With its long, dark nights and Christmas long gone, January can be a tough month to get through.

“Add to that the extra challenges we’re all facing, it’s a good job we have a bit of news to brighten the start of the New Year.”

Episode One will air at 9pm on Monday, January 11.
