Police appeal for information after Sheffield man 'stabbed' in Christmas Day robbery

Police are investigating after a Sheffield man was stabbed in his own home during a robbery on Christmas Day.

At around 11am on December 25, it is reported that two unknown raiders knocked at the door of a property on Handsworth Grange Close in Handsworth.

They then forced entry when the occupant, a man in his 60s, opened the door.

One of the offenders is understood to have gone upstairs, while the other is believed to have assaulted the occupant.

They then fled the scene with a safe taken from the property.

The occupant was later taken to hospital to be treated for stab injuries, which are not life-threatening.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call us on 101, quoting incident number 248 of December 25.”
