Their crimes include murder, burglary, drugs supply, violent assault and various sex offences including those against children.
With the year 2021 coming to an end in a few days, we take a look back at the most notorious crimes perpetrated by the offenders.
5. Omar Ali
Omar Ali, 28, from Rotherham was jailed for 18 months after he launched a ‘horrific’ attack with a hammer in Rotherham. He was driving along Alma Road, Moorgate on 15 April (2021) when he spotted the victim, a man in his 30s, stood next to his car. Ali pulled up alongside him and leapt out of his car wielding a hammer. He struck the victim several times in the head, leaving him unconscious on the ground. Photo: South Yorkshire Police
6. Ruben Moreno and Isaac Ramsey
Two friends were sentenced to jail on July 30 for their role in the killing of father of two, Marcus Ramsey, who was stabbed to death in a Sheffield street last summer. Marcus, then 35, died after an unconnected altercation at a street party escalated in to significant disorder, which culminated in him being stabbed through the heart shortly after midnight on Saturday 8 August 2020. Ruben Moreno, now 18, was convicted of murder. His co-defendant, Isaac Ramsey, also 18, was found guilty of manslaughter.

7. Richard Ferrie and Sean Holt
Two men have been jailed after admitting their part in an attack which led to the death of Sheffield man, Paul Crossley, in the city last year. Sean Holt, 45, of Longley Hall Way, and Richard Ferrie, 46, of Moncrieffe Road, Sheffield, were sentenced at Doncaster Crown Court on July 27. Both men were originally charged with murder, but after the trial had begun these charges were reduced. Holt admitted a charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to six years in prison. 8. Mark Shaw
Mark Shaw, 42, pleaded guilty after a violent assault against his own mother at Sheffield Crown Court on August 17. He was jailed for eight years. When officers arrived at Shaw’s home address on the morning of 1 January, they were prevented from getting inside with Shaw closing doors and windows.
After forcing entry officers discovered homemade barricades of furniture and were met by Shaw who was brandishing a hammer. A Taser deployment was required to ensure his and officers’ safety. Photo: South Yorkshire Police
