Sheffield United threatens to ban fans found to be involved in Hillsborough 'poo-gate'

Sheffield United has threatened to ban fans found to have been involved in a trespass incident at Hillsborough where human excrement was left on the pitch.

Video footage and photographs circulating online show a number of men, believed to be Blades, on the pitch at Hillsborough after breaking into Sheffield Wednesday’s stadium.

One of the men was captured defecating on the centre circle.

South Yorkshire Police staff member disciplined for posing as off-duty cop

He has posted a photograph of himself on Facebook showing him crouched down next to the centre spot and giving the thumbs up sign next to the excrement.

The incident has been reported to South Yorkshire Police.

This afternoon, Sheffield United issued a statement on the incident.

The club said: “If required, officials at Sheffield United Football Club will assist Sheffield Wednesday and/or South Yorkshire Police in identifying these individuals. “If they are proven to be Sheffield United supporters they will be banned from Bramall Lane with immediate effect.”
