Motorists are to be fined for parking illegally alongside a road in Sheffield

An officer filmed dozens of cars parked on both sides of the road and warned motorists to expect fines in the post.

The force said: “If you are going out for a walk please do not park your car next to double white lines as this is dangerous.

“Park further away, maybe somewhere safe and legal and then part of your walk can be the walk to and from your car.

“Parking in the manner above is dangerous and will cost you £100 and get you three points on your licence.

“All of the cars parked next to the double white lines can expect something in the post. You have been warned.”
