A spokesperson said: “Our colleague grabbed hold of one, which prompted the other to start throwing the plates- we still don’t know where he got the plates from.”

When back-up arrived, it was revealed that one of the men ‘had set fire to his own caravan’.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and possession of an offensive weapon.

South Yorkshire Police said the man was later released under investigation after questioning.
