Sheffield man on the run from prison remains at large

Carlos Treazure, aged 34, was jailed for eight years in 2015 for ambushing two victims in the Frog Walk area of Sharrow in September 2014 and January 2015.

During each robbery he threatened his victims with violence if they failed to hand over money or their bankcards.

He pleaded guilty to both offences, which were described by South Yorkshire Police at the time as ‘nasty and unprovoked’.

Detective Constable Rachael Smith said it was ‘lucky’ neither victim was hurt.

But it has now emerged that Treazure, who is serving his sentence at HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire, is on the run.

He was allowed to leave the prison on its ‘day release’ scheme to attend his place of work in Rutland Road, Sheffield, on Thursday May 16, as he prepares for life after he has served his time.

He was due to return to the prison by 8.30pm that same evening but failed to arrive.

Treazure is 5ft 9ins tall and of a medium build.

He has brown eyes, black hair and was last seen with a full beard. He has a distinctive scar around his left eye.

Treazure has links to Sheffield, Halifax and Manchester.

In a statement, Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Members of the public are asked not to approach him.”
