Westthrope Road remains closed this afternoon as the investigation continues, with residents told to expect an increased number of officers in the area, but police say it is believed to be an ‘isolated incident’.

The force encouraged anyone who has concerns and wishes to speak to police to talk to officers in the area.

Tributes have been paid to the victim, with one person describing him as ‘the most amazing daddy’ and another calling him a ‘lovely boy’ and a third writing that the ‘best hearted always go first’.

Shocked residents claim he was stabbed to death, but details on the circumstances of the attack have not yet been released by Derbyshire Constabulary.
