Sheffield man charged with murder of Ricky Collins after fatal stabbing

A Sheffield man has appeared in court today after being charged with murder.

Bradley Ward, aged 24, from Frecheville, has been charged with the murder of 31-year-old Ricky Collins, from Sheffield, who was stabbed to death last week.

Ricky was found critically injured in Westthorpe Road, Killamarsh, and was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Police officers had been called to the street after reports of a disturbance at a property but when they arrived they found that Ricky had been knifed.

Ward was charged over the killing last night and appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrate’s Court this morning.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Friday.

A 29-year-old woman from Sheffield, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 16-year-old Sheffield boy held on suspicion of murder earlier in the investigation is on bail while two men have been charged with assisting an offender.
