A Sheffield man has been charged in connection with the theft of almost £2500 worth of handbags from John Lewis.

Liam Barley, aged 35, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody before a court appearance on Monday (14 December) following three alleged thefts.

He is accused of stealing a total of £2428 worth of handbags.

Sheffield city centre neighbourhood policing team said Barley has also been released on bail pending further enquiries in connection with two commercial burglaries in the city centre.
