Sheffield man and woman arrested over murder after fatal stabbing of Ricky Collins

A man and woman from Sheffield are in police custody this morning after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 24-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested as part of the police probe into the fatal stabbing of Ricky Collins in Killamarsh, near Sheffield, on Monday, March 29.

Ricky, 31 and from Sheffield, was found seriously injured in Westthorpe Road last Monday after a stabbing.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Police officers had been informed of a disturbance at a house on Westthorpe Road and when they arrived Ricky was found critically injured outside.

Two men have been charged with assisting an offender as part of the investigation into the killing – a 43-year-old man from Sheffield and Martin Mongan, 44, from Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

They are both remanded in custody pending court cases.

A 16-year-old Sheffield boy arrested on suspicion of murder last week has been bailed pending further enquiries.
