Sheffield family ‘fearing for their lives’ after home shot at – but they can’t be rehoused

A Sheffield family whose home was shot at when three children were inside are ‘fearing for their lives’ but have been told they cannot move house – despite warnings of another attack.

The house on Aylward Road which Dominic Bramhall lives at with his partner Sara Gilchrist and her 10-year-old daughter Tia was shot at five times on 30 June.

He said: "I have been told by a few people I need to move because it might fire up again. It’s not safe.

"The police have told housing we are not at risk. They said they need more information.”

Shots were fired at another property on nearby Errington Avenue just minutes before Dominic and Sara’s house was shot at.

Dominic added: “My other friend who was shot at moved away.

"They said they can offer a B&B or hostel, shared accommodation with people we have got trouble with.”

Sara has been told it could be “months or even years” before she can be rehoused.

Two men and a woman have been charged with attempted murder following the shootings and will stand trial in November.

Dominic said: "I have got trouble with more people.

“I have been attacked a few times in the past, the police know about this.”

Dominic also said he has been shot at before on the Arbourthorne estate.

He added: "I have been told we are in danger, my gut feeling is telling me I need to do something about it.

"A child’s life is in danger, Tia won’t go to sleep on her own.”
