Two men and a woman accused of attempted murder after alleged shootings in Sheffield

Two men and a woman have had their case considered at Sheffield Magistrates' Court after they have all been charged with attempted murder following reported shootings in Sheffield.

Police officers were called to Errington Avenue, Arbourthorne, shortly before 9.45pm, on June 30, following reports of a firearm discharge, and at 9.53pm a call was received reporting shots had also been fired on Aylward Road, Arbourthorne, according to police.

Joshua Mottershead, aged 21, of St Aidan’s Avenue, Sheffield, and a woman called Demi Dunford, aged 24, of Derby Street, Sheffield, and Niki Haycock, 22, of Ironside Close, Sheffield, were all arrested and charged with attempted murder and remanded into police custody.

Police stated Mottershead and Dunford were arrested on July 1 on suspicion of attempted murder and Haycock was also arrested on July 2 on suspicion of attempted murder.

Mottershead has been charged with the attempted murder of a male and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life from June 30.

Dunford has also been charged with the attempted murder of the same male and arson by allegedly causing damage by fire to a Vauxhall Astra from the same date.

Haycock has also been charged with the attempted murder of the same male and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life on the same date.

Their case was considered at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on July 3 and it was adjourned and committed to Sheffield Crown Court for a hearing on July 7.

The matter was further adjourned and listed for a Sheffield Crown Court trial on November 10.
