Sheffield estate in shock after man found dead in his home

A man’s body has been found at his home in Sheffield, police have confirmed.

The man was found dead inside a house on Wadsworth Avenue, Intake, after officers attended following reports of concern for his welfare.

One resident, who asked not to be named, reported seeing two police cars and three police vans, including a crime scene investigation vehicle, outside the property on Tuesday, December 1.

He said a man’s body had later been taken away in a private ambulance, with the scenes causing great shock on what he described as a ‘quiet and private estate’.

South Yorkshire Police today confirmed that a man had been found dead but said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police were called at around 2.15pm on Tuesday 1 December following reports of concern for the welfare of a man.

"He was sadly found dead inside his home on Wadsworth Avenue, Sheffield.

"There are no suspicious circumstances."
