A driver was branded a ‘danger’ by the police after he tested positive for cannabis and cocaine in a roadside check in Sheffield.

He was tested after officers patrolling Shiregreen pulled over the black Seat Leon he was driving on Sunday and established that the driver was disqualified and had no insurance.

South Yorkshire Police said: “The black Seat Leon was stopped on Sunday in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield.

“As well as being disqualified from driving and having no insurance, which you would think was bad enough, he (the driver) topped it up with testing positive at the roadside for both cannabis and cocaine. Someone must have been having quite a party...what a real danger to other road users.

“One detained and off to the cells and the car recovered.”
