Victims escape serious injuries in latest Sheffield shooting

Emergency services flooded Cowley Gardens in Westfield at around 11.20pm on Monday following reports two people had been injured.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were found with suspected gunshot injuries and taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing but at this time, it is not thought that this incident is linked to any others.”

Four men – aged 31, 21, 20 and 19 – have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in custody.

It comes after multiple shots were fired at a vehicle on Yew Lane in Parson Cross on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man from Sheffield was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences in relation to that incident.
