A home on Olive Grove Road last night became the latest to be targeted by crooks in Heeley, following burglaries on Midhill Crescent, Slate Street, Myrtle Road, Anns Road and Delf Street in recent weeks.
Police earlier this month stepped up partols in the area after intruders struck overnight while their victims were sleeping.

Their house on Midhill Road was targeted two years ago after Graham left a back window slightly open, meaning they were unable to claim on insurance.
The crooks, who were never caught, made off with a laptop, iPad and jewellery, including Diane’s wedding ring. A carving knife, which they believe the culprit had grabbed to arm themselves in case they were disturbed, was also missing.
“It’s terrible that there have been so many burglaries in the last couple of months, because we were devastated when it happened to us,” said Diane.

“We’d advise people to be very vigilant and whatever the weather is to make sure they lock their windows and doors.”
