Sheffield artist launches fundraiser to replace stolen equipment
Other local artists were also affected by the burglary
A Sheffield artist who specialises in capturing the interiors of theatres in the North of England has started a fundraiser after her filming and technology equipment was stolen from her studio.

Allie Carr, whose studio is on Exchange Street, is raising money through GoFundMe to replace £1600 worth of gear which was stolen during a string of break-ins by one man.
Over the past ten years as a full-time artist, Allie had acquired “the perfect kit” including a Canon 6D camera and a MacBook pro.
These items, alongside three hard drives and a collection of SD cards were stolen, with footage from her most recent shoot unable to be recovered.
Other local artists were also affected by the burglary, however Allie ad the most taken and had no insurance in place to cover it.

Ryan Roxborough pleaded guilty to the thefts at businesses and homes across South Yorkshire over the summer.
The idea to start a fundraiser was bought up by friends and inspired by her previous donations to charity organisations.
Allie experienced a state of “existential crisis” after she had “exhausted all other options”. The fundraiser aims to raise £1,600 so she can replace both her laptop and camera.
She says that being able to purchase this equipment is essential to “help me get back on my feet and get back to work”.
Despite being “really nervous”, Allie has raised £1,400 through GoFundMe so far, almost reaching her initial goal. She specifies that this original goal will ensure she can purchase a new MacBook which she uses for editing, writing on her Substack page and mentoring other artists.
She states that if she can raise £4,080 eventually, she could purchase a mirrorless Canon R6 with RF lenses alongside the computer.
Roxborough, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to a total 11 counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary at Sheffield Crown Court, which took place over a period of just three weeks in late July to mid-August this year.
He will be sentenced on December 16.
