‘Several roads closed’ and air ambulance pictured at the scene of serious crash

A South Yorkshire road remains closed this morning after a serious collision.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash on the A618 Pleasley Road, between Whiston and Aughton, just before 8am.

The smash is believed to have occurred close to the entrance to Ulley Country Park.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were deployed to the crash scene and an air ambulance also landed.

A spokesperson for Rotherham South NPT said: “Please avoid the roads around Ulley Reservoir if at all possible today. We are current dealing with an incident and several roads will be closed off meaning the minor roads have limited capacity.”

Pleasley Road is closed from Whiston to Treeton Lane.

Casualty details have not yet been disclosed.
