Road closed by police after car lands on roof in crash outside Sheffield school

A road was closed by the police after a car flipped and landed on its roof in a crash outside a Sheffield school.

The black Audi ran out of control outside Woodhouse West Primary School, Sheffield Road, Woodhouse, at around 5.20pm yesterday and overturned.

Emergency services raced to the scene and blocked off the road to traffic for around 90 minutes while investigative work was carried out and arrangements were made for the damaged car to be recovered.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver had left the scene before officers arrived.

A police probe is now under way.

The force said: “Emergency services were called at 5.19pm yesterday following reports of an RTC on Sheffeld Road in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield.

“On arrival, officers found an Audi on its roof in the road. The driver had left the scene.”
