Queens Road fight: Traffic chaos in Sheffield as road closed and man rushed to hospital

Traffic is building up around a crime scene police cordon in Sheffield today as an investigation into a brawl on a busy city street gathers pace.

Queens Road has been sealed off since last night after emergency services were alerted to a fight involving a group of men and found an 18-year-old with serious leg injuries.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Investigations are at a very early stage and enquiries are continuing at this time to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident.”

Queens Road is blocked off near Halfords and a cordon is in place around the crime scene.

Buses have been diverted away from the area.

A heightened police presence is expected in the area throughout the day.

No arrests have yet been made over the incident.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 1,010 of March 18.
