Police issued the warning after tackling reports of anti-social behaviour, littering and drug use on South Street, above Sheffield railway station, where groups gathered over the weekend.

“Please be respectful, keep noise to a minimum and take your litter away with you,” said officers.

“Future operations are going to be taking place here, with enforcement and fines to follow for those responsible who are turning this beautiful view of our city into a rubbish tip.”

The warning comes amid concerns about the state of other parks in Sheffield, including Endcliffe Park, Crookes Valley Park and The Ponderosa, where large crowds have been flouting social distancing guidance, playing loud music and failing to clean up after themselves in recent weeks.
