Police seize 'nasty looking knife' from man searched in Sheffield street

A ‘nasty looking’ knife was seized when a man was stopped and searched on a Sheffield street.

Officers from the Burngreave neighbourhood policing team stopped a man who was wanted for breaching a court order.

They searched him as part of Operation Sceptre – an operation which ran last week to tackle knife crime.

South Yorkshire Police said After spotting a male who was wanted for breaching court imposed conditions, cops were quickly onto him and a subsequent search found this nasty looking knife, which he had obviously forgotten was in his pocket when he left the house.”

The man was charged over the offence.

At the same time, and in the same area, officers arrested a man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

House searches saw officers seize a large amount of cash.

The man was released released under investigation.
