South Yorkshire Police said the crooks broke into the wrong house.

They escaped with a black Dune bag, which contained make-up and perfume, when a one-year-old baby in the house started crying.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police are investigating a reported burglary in the early hours of yesterday morning.

“Around 4.15am, it was reported that three men wearing all black and face coverings, entered a property on Fox Hill Road demanding money and cannabis from the woman occupant who was downstairs at the time.

“They then left the property taking a handbag, containing perfume and make-up.

“It is believed the suspects had weapons and have targeted the wrong property.

“Police are keen to hear from anybody who may have information that can help the investigation.

“Do you live in the area, did you hear or see anything suspicious? Police particularly want to hear from anybody who may have been driving in the area at the time and have dashcam footage that could help the investigation, or anybody that lives locally and has CCTV footage that could help.”

Eniko Balagova, aged 21, was getting ready for work when two men burst into the home she shares with her partner Peter Lakatos, also 21.

She said she feared they would both be killed, leaving their daughter Emma orphaned.

“While the gun was at my head all I was thinking about was Peter and Emma because I could hear Peter getting hurt and if they killed us both my daughter would be all on her own,” she said.
