The force also said that officers had searched areas of open land.

In a statement, the Sheffield South West neighbourhood policing team said: “Following recent events in the area your team have been out in our area speaking with the public, appealing for information, searching open land areas, whilst specialist teams have been conducting warrants and making arrests.”

“Further details will be published later in the week.”

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson, responsible for tackling armed criminality, said DCI Henderson said: “The shootings are all being investigated as targeted incidents, involving people who are known to each other and are believed to be connected to serious organised crime happening in the city.”
