Police release CCTV images following Sheffield armed robbery
Police investigating a reported armed robbery in Sheffield last Sunday (December 22) have released CCTV images of a man they would like to identify.
It is believed that three men entered Costcutter in Fife Street at 6.15am, and one of them appeared to be in possession of a rifle-type gun.
The man is said to have ordered the shop assistant to get on the floor and demanded they hand over the safe keys.
On saying he didn't have them, he was then told to hand over his wallet, which was subsequently taken from him.
At the same time, the other two men allegedly attempted to open the till but failed to do so.
They then proceeded to steal a number of items behind the counter.
South Yorkshire Police, in a statement, said: "Detectives are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the men pictured and around Fife Street on Sunday morning.
"We are also keen to identify one of the men, who is most visible on the CCTV."
Those with information can report via 101 quoting incident number 218 of November 22.
Alternatively, they can stay completely anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers via the website www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.
This is a second incident involving Costcutter as the police have also issued an appeal to identify a man who entered the store on St Mary’s Road on November 9 and stole a bottle of beer.
