In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: “It is reported that at around 7am on November 9, an unknown man entered the Costcutter store on St Mary’s Road and stole a bottle of beer.

“He returned a short time later, stealing tobacco and attempting to take money from the till before being disturbed by a member of staff.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he might have information about what happened.”

The police urged those with information to contact 101 and quote crime reference number 14/170648/19.
