Police provide update on teenager left fighting for life after Sheffield stabbing

A teenage boy fighting for life after a knife attack in Sheffield suffered ‘multiple stab wounds,’ detectives have revealed.

The 17-year-old was attacked on Winn Gardens, Middlewood, at 1.40pm on Friday, October 23.

He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and remains there today.

In an update on the incident, South Yorkshire Police said it is being treated as a ‘targeted attack’.

The force said a member of the public helped the teenager until emergency services arrived.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: “We are still working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident, but detectives are treating this as a targeted attack.”

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder before being released on bail.

A 17-year-old boy was held on suspicion of assisting an offender and also bailed.
