Police probe into hit-and-run continues after death of woman in Sheffield

A police probe into a hit-and-run in Sheffield is continuing today after the death of a woman in Sheffield.

Emergency services were alerted to a collision in Fox Hill at 5.50pm on Saturday and found that a 64-year-old woman had been struck by a car which failed to stop.

She was found lying injured in the street at Fox Hill Crescent, about 20 metres from the junction with Edge Well Crescent, but could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 25-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other driving offences over the weekend and remained in police custody last night.

Witnesses to the collision and motorists with dash cam footage are urged to come forward.

Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 702 of February 15.
