Police probe into double shooting in Sheffield continues

A police probe into a double shooting in Sheffield is continuing today after gunmen opened fire in a house, injuring two men.

Emergency services were alerted to the shooting on Shirland Place, Darnall, at 10.09pm on Saturday, February 22.

Two men, aged 34 and 27, were shot when a group of men burst into a house and opened fire.

Describing the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said: “So far we believe a group of men entered the property and fired shots at two men who were known to them.”

Three men, aged 40, 32 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly afterwards.

DCI Henderson added: “I would like to reassure the community that believe this is a targeted attack and we will be carrying out additional patrols in the area.”
