A police probe is continuing into the murder of a mum-of-three originally from Sheffield.

Victoria Woodhall, aged 31, was stabbed to death in Windsor Crescent, Middlecliffe, Barnsley, on Sunday afternoon.

A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder that day remained in police custody last night.

The crime scene remained cordoned off yesterday as police officers and detectives pieced together the circumstances surrounding the knife attack.

Extra police patrols have been ordered in a bid to reassure local residents of their safety.

Victoria, originally from Sheffield but who later moved to moved to Barnsley, was said to have ‘doted’ on her three children.

She worked as an operating department practitioner at Rotherham General Hospital.

Heartbroken friends have set up an online fundraising page to help pay for her funeral and to support her children.
