Mr Brennand said: “It seems to have transpired that on the late evening of Friday, July 17, there was an incident involving the police, and the deceased appears to have been a pedestrian.”

He added: “The police have indicated that charges are not being contemplated, therefore it’s unlikely that these proceedings are going to be suspended.”

The inquest was adjourned to December 18.

Tiegan’s boyfriend, who was with her at the time, also broke several bones and was airlifted to hospital in Hull.

In a moving tribute, Ms Scott’s mother, Tanya O’brien described her as ‘my beautiful angel’ and said she would ‘love you forever and always’, while Tiegan’s sister Renelle Scott, added ‘I really have lost my sister, my best friend, my right arm’.

Lincolnshire Police appealed for anyone with information about the collision or dash cam footage of the incident to call the force on 101 and quote incident 22 of July 18.
