Police investigation into woman raped by four men in Sheffield park 'progressing'

The detective leading the police probe into a rape in a Sheffield park said it is ‘progressing’.

A 21-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in High Hazels Park, Darnall, on Monday, November 23 and she reported the incident the following day.

No arrests have yet been made.

Detective Inspector Ben Wood said: “I would like to reassure the public that our investigation is progressing and that enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“We have specialist officers following up lines of enquiry.

“I would continue to ask members of the public, who may have information about what happened to please contact us. Even the smallest detail may prove vital to our enquiries.”

Police patrols have been stepped up in the wake of the attack.
