Police guard house of suspected Ann Widdecombe murderer who skirted detection from national terror watchdogs
The public are being asked not to speculate around the attack
Police remain on the scene in Rotherham four days after a man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe was arrested.
The 28-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday (July 11) after police forces descended upon Byrley Road in the Kimberworth Park area of Rotherham.
He has since been rearrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism as Counter Terrorism Police take over investigations into the former Conservative MPs death.

As the incident is now being considered as terrorism - following what has been described as “new information and evidence” coming to light - the individual can be kept in custody for 14 days before being charged with a crime.
Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday (July 13), Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said that the man was “not known to Prevent” - a multi-authority Government service to tackle terrorism.
She went on to say that police forces will now be consulting with MPs about safety precautions.
The public are being asked not to speculate around the attack, as it may risk investigations and potential future court appearances.
Ms Mahmood told The Commons: “Today is a dark day in our political life, but we must also use it as an opportunity to celebrate Ann Widdecombe’s memory.
“She was a unique figure in our politics, a distinctive and devoted public servant, the likes of whom we will rarely if ever see again.
“Ann had a profound faith, her journey in this life has ended too soon. May she now rest in eternal peace.”
