Police find hundreds of cannabis plans above Sheffield hairdressers in Page Hall

A police raid uncovered a cannabis set-up above a row of shop in the Page Hall area of Sheffield.

Officers from the Page Hall police team struck yesterday morning after receiving ‘community intelligence’ about the drug den on Page Hall Road.

Two arrests were made at the scene for the production of cannabis and immigration offences.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We have discovered over 200 cannabis plants in a setup that is extremely hazardous not only because of the confined space but also due to the bypassing of the electricity, which could have caused a serious fire at any time.

“We are always on the hunt for set-ups such as these in Page Hall and we act quickly when we find them.

“We really value any information that we are provided with to help us detect and dismantle them.”
