Police cordon in place after tram collision in Sheffield

A police cordon is in place in Sheffield this morning at the spot where a man was seriously injured in a collision with a tram.

South Yorkshire Police said the man suffered serious head injuries in the collision on West Street at around 10.20pm yesterday.

West Street was sealed off in the immediate aftermath of the collision but the tram has since been moved and the road is re-open this morning.

Trams are also running as normal.

But a police cordon remains in place on the pavement between Fitzwilliam Street and Convent Walk.

Witnesses should call 101 and quote incident 939 of May 22.
