Police cordon off Sheffield road while firefighters tackle house blaze

A busy road through a Sheffield suburb was cordoned off last night while firefighters tackled a house blaze.

Emergency services were deployed to Burngreave Road, Burngreave, at around 10pm following reports of a house on fire.

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

South Yorkshire Police said: “South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and police attended the scene. The fire was extinguished and a cordon was put in place to allow officers to conduct enquiries.

“No injuries were reported.”

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
