Police confirm man, 35, shot in the leg in Sheffield

A man was taken to hospital after being shot in the leg in Sheffield, police have confirmed.

Officers were called at 8.59pm last night, Thursday, August 27, following reports that shots had been fired on Lump Lane, in Grenoside.

A 35-year-old man has suffered injuries to his leg following the firearms discharge and he was taken to hospital for treatment, said police.

Police attended the scene and put a cordon in place while they investigated the events that led up to the shooting.

Officers have launched an investigation and have urged any witnesses to come forward with information.
