Police close down drug den on Sheffield estate

A drug den has been closed down after police found five people in the property.

The Sheffield North East neighbourhood policing team has published photographs of the property, showing the squalor inside the drug den.

The team said the property will remain boarded up for the forseeable future.

In a Facebook post, the team said said: “At present the Parson Cross team are managing the policing of coronavirus, which is a huge challenge in itself.

“However, tackling drug crime remains a key priority for us.

“We want people to feel safe and we will continue to shut down any properties where we suspect illegal activity is taking place.

“That was the case again today on Crowder Crescent when we had cause to remove five people from the property which had become a drugs den.

“The property has now been secured and will remain so for the foreseeable future.”
