Police called to Sheffield Park after girl is assaulted by group of teenagers

Police were called at around 7pm on Saturday (May 1) to reports that a girl had been assaulted in Ecclesfield Park.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire said: “It is reported that the 16-year-old girl was assaulted by a group of teenage girls of the same age.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital via ambulance to receive treatment for minor injuries.”

Eyewitnesses saw a young woman laid out on the floor after the apparent fight.

Enquiries are ongoing.
