No charges yet over murder of man attacked in Sheffield a year ago

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Sheffield a year ago have not yet charged anyone over the killing.

Nadeem Qureshi, aged 40, was found seriously injured on land off Station Road, Deepcar, on Wednesday, July 24 and died a short time later.

Arrests have been made over the murder, with suspects from Bolsterstone, Lowedges, Deepcar and Manchester among those quizzed and bailed, but nobody has been charged.

Mr Qureshi, who was from Manchester, served in the army when he was younger and working in Sheffield when he was attacked.

He suffered injuries to his head, chest, abdomen and lower limbs in the attack.

Possible motives for the murder have never been disclosed, but earlier in the investigation South Yorkshire Police said the attack was not being linked to any other incident.
