NHS attempts to secure huge empty site in Sheffield invaded by vandals
“Money raised from the sale of the site at Fulwood will be invested in mental health services in Sheffield”
Security at a Sheffield NHS site has been beefed up after it was repeatedly invaded by children.
Wooden fencing has been erected at the Fulwood House plot in Fulwood and ground floor windows and doors have been boarded up.

It comes after Sheffield City Council issued a formal notice requiring the NHS to take steps after video emerged of children hanging off the outside and playing on the roof of an eight-storey office.
The site has become a haunt for young people since the NHS moved out in 2023. Developer Expresso Properties applied to turn it into upmarket housing and flats.

But in November last year, the NHS said a sales contract with the firm had ended. The property is back on the market.
Despite this, Expresso’s homes plan was granted permission in July.

A spokesperson for Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust said: “We can confirm the Fulwood site is on the market currently.

“We are committed to our vision of improving the mental, physical and social wellbeing of the people in our communities.
