Motorist in stolen car flees crash scene after collision in South Yorkshire

A motorist behind the wheel of a stolen car involved in a crash this morning fled before police officers arrived.

A stolen Volvo was involved in a collision with a Mercedes close to the Todwick roundabout on the A57 this morning, with the Mercedes ending up on its roof.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision at 6.20am.

South Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed that the Volvo has been reported stolen and the driver fled the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”
